Straight out of university, graduating with an English BA, I jumped into the fast moving world that is Broadcast Journalism. Ever changing, always challenging and simply just non-stop. A Masters graduate in Multimedia and Broadcast Journalism from the University College Falmouth, I have over three years experience in working within media as well as lecturing for students about the industry.
When I was younger I was going to an actress … no, an architect … no, sorry, i mean a police woman … or maybe a lawyer?
There just didn’t seem to be anything that would keep my interest, that is until I looked into journalism and television production. You never know what is going to happen each day, what job you may get, and the amazing people you meet … It keeps everything fresh and exciting!
We live in a digital world which makes my work even more changeable and exciting. Multi-media platforms are being used to cover stories, highlight events and unveil great experiences that we can all share with each other via online, television and radio.
So here are the experiences that I’ve had learning and breaking into the industry, as well as a few new adventures I’m making on my way.

As i was strolling throught the internet looking for images of ‘exam pics’ i came across your blog which seemed interesting. I don’t usually read blogs that often (usually because i don’t have the time) but since yours was about journalism, i thought why not. I’m also in the same boat and would just like to say good luck in your career.
I’m doing a BA Journalism degree in the University of Bedfordshire and in my final year now, so the pressure is on. The job maket is competitive out there esepcially in journalism, thats why networking is crucial in my opinion.
My aim is also to be in the BBC or for Aljazeera.
I’ve also done a blog (now that i’ve come to my senses) since its a good way for us journalists to showcase our writing styles. Maybe i should have done my blog in word press since the word press features seem quite nice. Anyway it’s nice to see other journalists from different universities.
